The Haldimand Norfolk Home Builder's Association is a member of the OHBA (Ontario Home Builder's Association) and the CHBA (Canadian Home Builder's Association). At the provincial level, the association works with the provincial government in legislating the housing industry as well as ammending the Ontario Building Code. Throughout each level of the association, communication is established between the levels of government, ensuring that home builder's have representation at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels.
Throughout the year, the Executive Board meets on the first Monday of each month in order to run the general business of the association. The members then meet on the third Monday of each month to dicuss topics regarding the home building industry. These meetings are held in local restaurants and include guest speakers who provide insight into various issues related to the industry.
A joint meeting is held with the Brantford Home Builder's Association and the CHBA in September. Here the CHBA addresses the joint members to discuss what is being accomplished at the national level as well as providing a national economic update and its projections for the year to come.
The Ontario Home Builders’ Association is the voice of the residential construction industry. We advocate on behalf of our members to make it easier to build and renovate homes. We speak with one voice through local chapters (such as the HNHBA) and promote high industry standards through training and education.
Together we serve our members with one voice.
